Meeting for the launch of entity operations of BDK Technical Innovation Center was solemnly held in No. 107 Creative Industry Park, Beixinqiao on August 2. Almost 40 personnel, including leaders, middle management and technicians of different entities, attended this meeting. The meeting was chaired by Zhao Wanhe, Vice-General Manager and Chief Engineer of the company. 

Firstly, Li Minghua, Deputy Director of Party-Mass Work Department announced Notice on Entity Operations of BDK Technical Innovation Center and Notice on Appointment and Removal of Leaders of BDK Technical Innovation Center signed and issued by the company, and stated and explained responsibilities of Business Division of the officially launched Technical Innovation Center, organizational structure as well as appointment of leaders. 

Later, Zhao Wanhe, Vice-General Manager of the company delivered a speech at the meeting. He briefly introduced the initial purposes and development journey of BDK Technical Innovation Center, preliminary works conducted before entity operations as well as existing results and breakthroughs, and he hopes that Technical Innovation Center could seize opportunities and bring technical innovation works to a new level in the future. 

After that, Yang Xiaodong, Secretary of the Party Committee raised three requirements on its behalf. Firstly, he expects marketing talents could combine their personal development with the company’s development direction, stand at a high position and look at the big picture. Secondly, the Technical Innovation Center shall focus on the company’s existing businesses as well as their development characteristics and trends, and vigorously facilitate technical innovation works. Thirdly, he hopes the Technical Innovation Center could give full play to the advantages and strengths of marketing talents, make the most of advantages and value of marketization, and thus achieve win-win situation of marketing talents themselves and the company.

In response to those requirements, Wang Dali, Director of Technical Innovation Center made the following statements on its behalf: we appreciate the company’s leaders’ care and support, and staff of Technical Innovation Center will keep the mission in mind and make the best use of our time. 

At last, Du Yumin, General Manager of the company delivered an important speech. He gave his profound insights into the entity operations of the company’s Technical Innovation Center from five perspectives of macro-environmental requirements, purposes and significance, key tasks, working procedures and the next steps. 

1. From the country’s macroscopic perspective, the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China addressed that ‘technical innovation is the strategic support for rise in social productivity and comprehensive national strength, and innovation-driven development strategy must be implemented. In consideration of the needs of supply-side structural reform currently implemented by the country and Beijing’s strategic position as ‘four centers’, thorough implementation of technical innovation is in line with China’s current innovation-driven development strategy, and the Technical Innovation Center can be one of the company’s effective measures to achieve scientific innovations;

   
   

2. Building of Technical Innovation Center is an objective need for BDK to realize its ‘13th Five-Year Plan’ and its strategy of ‘one main line, two industrial platforms, two priorities and one situation’, which explicitly specifies the direction for technical innovations is to form a multi-level and multi-channel technical innovation mechanism through application orientation, independent innovation, industry-university-institute cooperation, industry alliance, platform service for technological achievement transformation, policy support, financial support and other approaches, build scientific research platforms for applied technologies, facilitate the forming of industrial development pattern driven by technical innovation, and make it a concrete support for business development.

   
   

3. The Technical Innovation Center’s also established as an effective way to solve two development bottlenecks that BDK confronts with at the moment, insufficient core competitiveness and relatively low gross profit rate. Technical Innovation Center must keep an eye on the direction of industrial development, effectively facilitate R&D and industrialization of visual video monitoring, intelligent internet of vehicles and other innovation projects through technical innovation, and further improve core competitiveness of existing products to solve the problem of comparatively low gross profit rate of products and raise the company’s core competency. 

   
   

4. The Technical Innovation Center must follow the principles and guidelines of ‘integrating strategies with practices, guiding practices by strategies and giving priority to practices’, find the right path for industrial development, outsource the simple modification business under non-core technologies, and develop products of its own core competitiveness. 5. The company’s Technical Innovation Center must focus on the two major development goals of upgrading and transformation of current industries as well as exploration and development of new industries. It shall carry out technical innovation works based on the development of industries that the company’s entities involved in, strengthen technical innovation and market exploration targeting on its weakness in business innovation and marketing ability, attach importance to the country’s ‘Belt and Road’ strategy, and accelerate global market deployment. The Technical Innovation Center shall also continuously explore and develop new industries in accordance with the policies and guidelines of ‘industry, university, institute, policy and application’ to expand business scope and industrial strengths, and thus make the enterprise bigger and stronger.
